–Driven (outer) yoke same as drive yoke but is mounted on the implement. There are two types of shafts, domestic and metric, which are identifiable by their shapes. Domestic are generally one of four shapes: round, square, rectangle or splined. Metric are: bell, star or football shaped. In either case the primary (front) shaft is the same shape as the secondary shaft, only bigger so that the secondary shaft fits inside. This allows a telescoping effect to take place when the implement is raised on the 3 pt. or during a turning movement such as a bailer. All shafts have to be sized before use. Attach the implement to the 3 pt. and raise and support it. Attach the proper end to the tractor and attempt to attach the other to the implement. If the shaft is too long trim one of the shafts with a hack saw and try it again until it fits. This allows for the implement to be raised without binding. The shafts should overlap as much as allowed.

On a typical roller chain drive application there is a drive sprocket and an idler sprocket. Because of this an idler sprocket is just as important if not more important than the drive sprocket. IThe result is a drive solution that reflects our bundled practical knowledge, which is perfectly adapted to your requirements as a customer. We are always there to provide you with advice and assistance throughout the entire lifecycle of our products.f an idler sprocket fails while in use the result can be catastrophic depending on the application. Because of this it is always important to monitor the status of your idler sprockets and use a high-quality sprocket. At HZPT Roller Chain and Sprockets we stock a wide range of premium Idler sprockets for almost all roller chain sizes. Below are the standard configurations for idler sprockets but additional types are available upon request.
Ball Bearing Idler Sprockets
The most standard configuration is using a precision ball bearing that is pressed and secured into the sprocket plate. These are economical and can width stand a lot harsh and heavy-duty application requirements.
Needle Bearing Idler Sprockets
Needle bearing idler sprockets are able to withstand higher capacities because there is more surface contact between the rotating parts. Surprisingly this design also uses less friction and is more stable when mounted onto the shaft.
Bronze Bearing Idler Sprockets
Using a piece of bronze as an idler sprocket configuration is probably the second most common idler sprocket configuration today. This is because of the versatility of bronze and economic price tag. Additionally, it has no moving parts so in some applications a bronze bearing idler sprocket can last longer.
Bronze Bushed Idler Sprockets
Bronze bushed idler sprockets are essentially the same as bronze bearing idler sprockets.
Non-Metallic Idler Sprockets
Non-Metallic idler sprockets are manufactured using plastic and stainless-steel components so they can operate in extremely corrosive and food-grade environments. Most of theses sprocket types are a non-stock item but they can be made within a very short lead-time.
